Marietta celebrates St. Patrick’s Day in New Bern with a talk on two very different things. First, she invites attendees into an exploration of the creative process of writing—that seductive experience of finding just the right words and sculpting a book into an artistic whole. Then, she lays out two paths to publishing a book, both of which she knows inside out. Her first three books were published by Penguin Random House. Leaving 1203 was published independently. So, corporate or indie publishing, which is the road better taken for aspiring writers? The interactive talk is open to one and all and signed copies of Leaving 1203 will be available for purchase and personalizing. One copy will stay behind for patrons of this library, of course. A descendant of the McCarty clan of County Cork in Ireland visits the green coastline of Emerald Isle—how sweet it will be!
