Come for a taste of southern cooking and Sunday relaxation reminiscent of patio days celebrated in Leaving 1203. Executive Chef Harrison Keevil will serve up small plates of 1203 food for body and soul. Yes, Harrison has stirred up his culinary delights in London, San Francisco, and New York City and he currently pleases palates at the Commonwealth Restaurant and Skybar. But most importantly, he learned the art of cooking from his mama in Richmond, the hometown he and Marietta share. Marietta will speak at 2 and again at 4, and Harrison and his wife Jennifer will pass tastings of the menu items during her talks. Champion Brewery and Rio Hill Wine Shop will be pouring tastings of beer and wine selected just for the occasion. The cost of $25.00 includes a copy of Leaving 1203. Keevil and Keevil Grocery and Kitchen, co-owned by Harrison and his wife Jennifer, stocks Leaving 1203 along with other locally-sourced foods that are the trademark of this charming spot in Charlottesville’s old Belmont neighborhood. Plenty of on-street parking is available. If you’d like to make reservations around Marietta’s talk at either 2 or 4pm, feel free to call 434-9897648. And in the old 1203 way, stroll right in from 1-5 as no reservation is required.
