After a fine time in April celebrating the Home’s 125th birthday with staff members and volunteers, Marietta returns for a party with residents and their families. Her time spent at The Home when her mother June worked there left an indelible stamp on Marietta’s grateful heart, and in Leaving 1203 she details ceramic reminders of those days rediscovered while home emptying. Marietta will share her memories from The Home and invite stories from residents and their family members. Charlottesville musician Blue O’Connell joins the fun, and will play guitar and sing tunes featured in the book. Blue welcomes sing-a-longs, too. Signed copies of Leaving 1203 will be available for purchase and personalizing.
